  6. This is the Amiga binary distribution of John the Ripper, authorized by it's
  7. author Solar Designer.
  8.  
  9. John the Ripper is a multi-platform password checker for Unix-style password
  10. files  whose  format happens to be used for AmiTCP's db/passwd file.  If you
  11. supply  telnet  or  user  ftp  services  with  your  Amiga's presence on the
  12. Internet  you  should  make  sure  all  your accounts have reasonably secure
  13. passwords.  Though most crackers use faster machines than Amigas it's better
  14. than nothing to verify the passwd security with your own machine.

  16. This time only 68040 version is supplied for I don't where you wanna go with
  17. slower machines.  If there is any need for 020 or 000 versions I will upload

  21. strictly  discourage  cracking  passwords  of  machines  not administered by
  22. you. Y'oughta strengthen security. 'nuff said.
